Contractor’s Corner: Conquest Mfg Ltd

This week for Contractor’s Corner, we have the pleasure of featuring Ranae Ginter of Conquest Mfg Ltd as she introduces herself and the family owned fourth generation operating business since 1956. They take their social responsibility seriously, striving to provide stable employment, and contribute to local charities and community activities.

Doman: What is the history of your company?

Ranae Ginter: Conquest has been designing and building quality pre-fabricated, modular structures for over 60 years. We are a Prefab Modular builder specializing in single family residents, cottage living, multi family dwellings and commercial projects. All of our projects are built inside our 40,000 sq. ft. facility. We have all our own trades on staff and under one roof. Once modules are built we ship them out and assemble on site.

What services do you offer?

We are a custom builder with our entire team under one roof. From design through to final move in, we offer solutions for every step of the building process.

From our design team, carpenters, cabinetry & mill work division, certified electricians, and plumbers, we handle everything here at Conquest to provide our clients with a seamless transition through all stages of the building process.

Can you tell us about one of your favourite projects and why?

We have two favourite projects as we couldn’t decide between the two!

We love the Islander. It’s a more compact floor plan but so versatile. We’ve designed it so you can add modules on to the sides and put a module pod on top. There is plenty of storage options; large windows flood the main area with natural light and you can decide between 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms!

The Point Cottage was another favourite. With tight property access this cottage was built in 7 modules and then assembled on site. The entire inside is finished in beautiful white washed pine, accented with ceiling beams and pine flooring. We love the LP CanExel Prefinished Siding board and batten exterior, window trim and beams accenting the front entrance. Truly a favourite!

Why do you work with . . .?

We love working with James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding and CanExel exterior sidings. There are so many colour options and styles available, that there is always the right fit for our clients.

Another tried and true product that we regular is the MoistureShield Composite Decking and Century Aluminum Railings

“We see smaller footprints and minimalist dwellings becoming more popular trends in the housing and cottage markets.”

What warranty do you offer on your work or the products?

1 year bumper to bumper warranty and 10 year structural warranty.

How do you approach each project?

The majority of our clients come in with a lot of design ideas already in mind however, we do make suggestions and educate them on products that we would recommend for achieving their intended look and feel.

What trends do see in the future for your industry?

We see smaller footprints and minimalist dwellings becoming more popular trends in the housing and cottage markets.

We also see Prefab Modular Construction becoming a more popular and accepted form of building practice due 30%-50% reduced construction times resulting in great ROI, no weather delays, firm delivery schedules and fixed contract pricing.

Do you have a product you use that you just can’t build without?

LP SolidStart LVL & LP SolidStart LSL. We utilize both of these products on every structure we build. We pride ourselves in building the strongest wood structures around, and these products helps us achieve that.

How do you find out about new products?

Social media is probably our number one source for finding new products and design trends.

Contractors often receive swag from manufacturers and suppliers. What’s your favourite swag?

Products that we can actually use on a job site are the best items.
