Our Regional Director of Sales is responsible for leading their team. Success in the position means you will develop, foster, and enhance relationships with customers, co-workers, and industry professionals. You will oversee implementation and execution of sales strategies through a team of direct reports in pre-determined geographies. This position is responsible for achieving key financial, operational, and team development goals. You will be a coach, modeling behaviors while building leadership and talent throughout your team. We are a relationship-based company with a strong work culture. This role would report into our business office in Dallas, TX, and can be based within the market, the South/Southwest/Midwest.

What does the role involve?

  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the assigned region.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and team objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and distributors to drive sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and develop strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate across our company with other teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment of sales objectives with overall company goals.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, pipeline activity, and forecasting accuracy to track progress and make data-driven decisions.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our brand and expand our network.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, product changes, and emerging trends to anticipate market shifts and adjust sales strategies accordingly.

What background are we looking for?

  • Prefer a bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive sales experience in the building materials industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven history of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and people skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders.
  • Common sense thinker with a customer-centric approach and a focus on delivering results.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for serving the customer.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
