The micronized copper azole preservative in MicroPro® XPS helps protect against termite damage and fungal decay and the lighter, more natural wood appearance allows for improved painting and staining. Micronized copper azole (MCA) is an American Wood Protection Association (AWPA) standardized wood preservative. Built-in water repellent protection that no brush-on product can match. When applied as part of the pressure treating process, the water repellent penetrates past the surface, and into the cells of the wood, eliminating the time and effort required to apply an initial brush-on product, and offering weathering protection to all surfaces of the wood. Natural weathering begins when wood is exposed to cycles of sunlight and moisture. The absorption and evaporation of moisture in the wood products can cause the wood cells to swell, resulting in cracking, splitting, and checking.
